Who can undergo the Rapid Opioid Detox under Sedation?

Our detox procedure is not for everyone. We have a very extensive pre-screening process to determine if someone is a candidate. We pre-screen by reviewing the patient’s drug(s) of choice, quantity, past & present health conditions, medications, and their readiness and willingness to be free from opiates. We want you to be safe and successful with this program.

Those considering the procedure are screened during their initial call, and once an appointment is made, they are interviewed again by a Registered Nurse. If a patient is over 40, they must have a stress test in his/her home area or at our facility once arrived. The cost of the procedure and travel plans must also be included.

The pre-screening process is necessary because we want you to be successful. If you meet our strict criteria, you will be opioid free and on your way towards hope, healing, and healthy living in only 3 days!

How does the procedure work and how can I get Vivitrol so quickly after the procedure?

Our team of addiction specialists administer IV sedation to keep you sleeping through the worst withdrawals. You do not to have to suffer through the withdrawals or suffer alone! Unlike other facilities, we do not use General Anesthesia (with intubation or a breathing tube) as that has greater risk for your safety and health.

Our facility is overseen by Dr. Julia Aharonov, an award-winning, board-certified physician Anesthesiologist. After the procedure, the patient stays in his/her own private room with 24-hour medical care.

In addition to the sedation and opioid reversal, patients are supplemented with hydration, vitamins, minerals, and electrolytes. This gives your body an extra boost throughout the detoxification process. After the opioid reversal procedure, the patient also receives a Vivitrol Injection to eliminate cravings.

After I am done with the procedure, will I still have withdrawals?

You will go through most of the ‘cold turkey’ withdrawals while you are under sedation. Any post-acute withdrawals will be treated with non-additive medication, such as those to treat nausea, fever, etc. Our experienced medical staff will prescribe those same medications for you to take home and will order refills as needed.

With the Rapid Opioid Detox program, we also include continuing detox-related aftercare. This is why Ketamine Institute of Michigan, partnered with Advanced Rapid Detox, has such a high long-term success rate and close, long-lasting relationships with our patients and their families. Most patients feel “we get them through the hardest part.”

Am I on Suboxone or Methadone after the procedure?

No. Suboxone and Methadone are still opioids. Our board-certified physician anesthesiologists do not substitute one opioid for another. Our goal is for you to be FREE from opioids by the end of the 3 day program!

How do I get repeated Vivitrol injections after the procedure?

Visit Vivitrol.com to find a local provider. The injection is covered by most health insurance companies and free on Medicaid/state insurance. If you decide you do not want the Vivitrol injections, you can take the daily Naltrexone tablets. However, we strongly encourage the Vivitrol injection due to the efficiency of the medication.
