Our Rapid 3-Day Opioid Detox Procedure is as follows:

(Day 1) — The patient completes all intake paperwork, has lab work, physical & psychological exam, a chest x-ray, and a stress test if over the age of 40. The patient is admitted to their private room which has a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, WIFI, and all meals are included.

(Day 2) — The patient is brought into the Procedure Room, under the care of a board-certified physician anesthesiologist. An IV is inserted and the patient begins receiving IV sedation. The patient remains comfortable under sedation as the rapid opioid detox process begins. The patient is closely monitored and kept comfortable using sedation by experienced staff through their withdrawals.

After the opiate reversal, the patient receives an FDA Approved Vivitrol® injection. Vivitrol® is a brand name for Naltrexone, which blocks the effect of opioids, decreasing cravings, and reducing a person’s need for them. It should be noted that Vivitrol® eliminates the opiate cravings for 28 days, is not addictive, and can be given immediately after this procedure—avoiding the recommended 7 to 14 day wait period if the patient is self-detoxing.

(Day 3) — The patient returns to his/her private room to rest and recuperate while being continuously monitored by 24-hour medical staff. If the patient experiences any post-acute withdrawals, they are given transitionary, non-addictive medications. The patient also receives those medications to take home. The following morning, the patient will be thoroughly evaluated by a physician anesthesiologist who determines their discharge readiness. In some instances, the provider may deem it necessary for the patient to remain under the close supervision of the detox facility’s staff for an additional day.
